Sherman -- Dorothy E. Sherman, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 18 years, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2001. She was born to Charles and Elizabeth Dean Field on October 9, 1917 in Taunton, MA. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frederick L. Sherman; her son, Dr. Frederick C. Sherman and wife, Sam of Albuquerque; her daughter, Susan E. Sherman of Philadelphia; and grandchildren, Dr. Kristen K. Sherman of San Francisco, F. James Sherman of London, Nicole Jennifer Rosenberg of Boston and Sarah Elizabeth Rosenberg of Baltimore. Dorothy graduated from Bridgewater, MA., State Teacherťs College in 1939. She married in 1940 and raised her family in Taunton, MA and Cranston, RI. She received a MA in Elementary Education from Rhode Island College and returned to teaching 4th and 5th grade in Cranston, in addition to serving as the Vice Principal at Glen Hills Elementary School. She taught for 25 years winning many awards for her excellence in teaching. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2001, 10:00a.m. at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Road NW, with Rev. Clyde Stanfield, Officiating. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to The Nature Conservancy, NM District, 212 E. Marcy, Santa Fe, NM 87501. .DMP
