Bruyere -- David L. Bruyere, 65, a resident of Corrales since the early '70s, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 42 years, Nancy L. Bruyere; grandchildren, Natasha C. Kowalchuk, Joshua D. Kowalchuk and Patrick S. Kowalchuk, all of Corrales; sisters, Elaine Whatley and Audrey Fred, both of Florida; and many nephews, nieces and cousins of New York, Michigan, Florida and New Mexico. Mr. Bruyere was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele A. Bruyere-Kowalchuk; and brother, Robert Harold Bruyere. He was a Councilman, Fire Chief and volunteer fireman of Corrales. Mr. Bruyere owned a small engine and lawn mower business and he also worked for Ever Ready Oil Company. He was a member of the Senior Citizen Center and the Prostate Support Group. Mr. Bruyere served in the U.S. Marines. Services will be held Thursday, 12:00 noon, at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Cremation will take place and private interment of cremains will be held at a later date. Pallbearers will be John Malone, Jr., Raef Schmidt, John Malone, Sr., Leonard Abeyta, Jim Fritts and Anthony Martinez. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Thursday, 10:00 a.m. until service time.
