Wood -- Nancy C. Wood, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on April 7, 2001. Nancy was born on May 6, 1935 to Linwood and Ruby McDougal Candage in Ellsworth, Maine. She was an antique dealer and owner of Antiques and Treasures by Carwood for many years. Nancy also served as secretary of the corporation Joseph O. Carmer Enterprises and was co-owner of Carwood, LLC. Nancy was a registered nurse and earned her nursing degree in Boston, MA, her BA at University of Albuquerque, and went on to earn her AMA in Psychology at Webster's College. She loved to travel and her favorite pastime was driving around and shopping for antiques with Joe. Nancy was also very proud to be fortunate enough to be a heart transplant recipient. Nancy is survived by her loving children Kimberly Wood Narey and husband, Laurance of Euless, TX, Douglas C. Wood and wife, Bonnie Chavez-Wood of Rio Rancho, Michael Wood of Albuquerque, and her longtime friend and companion for almost 30 years, Joe Carmer of Albuquerque, four step-children, Joseph P. Carmer and wife, Vonda of OK, Sue A. Garcia and husband, Ben of Hobbs, Michael W. Carmer and wife, Leslie, Kenneth W. Carmer all of Albuquerque, her grandchildren, Ashley Perry, Keith and Jessie Behrman, Melanie, Matthew, Nicole and Kyle Wood and eight step-grandchildren. Nancy will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alameda Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th St NW, (505) 898-3160.
