Chavez -- Joe M. Chavez, 70, went home to be with the Lord on November 4, 2001. Mr. Chavez was born in New Mexico on February 1, 1931. Joe worked for Star Paving for many years. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Chavez; two children; brothers, Enrique Chavez and wife, Viola and Anselmo Chavez and wife, Josie; sisters, Angelita Lopez, Juanita Roybal from Pecos, NM, and Conrada Leyba and husband, Tony; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Joe will be deeply missed by his loving family. A final viewing and prayer service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2001 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 am. at Garcia Mortuary with a Graveside Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ruben Chavez, Timothy Varela, Paul Leyba, Ruben Chavez Jr., Henry Chavez and Anselmo Chavez. Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave SW 243-5222.
