Montano -- Roman"Ray" Montano passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Isabel; his son, Roman, Jr. and wife, Jennifer; and his daughter, Lisa. He also leaves behind his beautiful granddaughters, Gabriela Montano (baby Gaby) and Jene Montano (Nicolai); and his grandson and"best buddy", Daniel Montano (Klon); brother, Diego Montano; and sisters, Kay Chavira, Connie Nuanes and Toni Gabaldon. Ray was a Korean War Veteran and served Bernalillo and Valencia Counties as a Sheriff's Deputy for many years. He lived for 37 years in the house that he built with his own hands and was a devoted provider for his family. He had many wonderful friends. He was always building or fixing something and never failed to help someone in need. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2003 at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd. SW.
