Rosenberg -- Lola Nadine Rosenberg, 79. Mrs. Rosenberg died Tuesday, January 14, 2003, in Carlsbad. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2003 at Grace Episcopal Church with Father Thomas Gray of Grace Episcopal and Mark Sanford of Temple Beth El officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at West Funeral Home. Arrangements are by West Funeral Home. Lola Nadine Rosenberg was born September 21, 1923 in Carlsbad, NM to city pioneers F. Clayton Miller and Lola Schnaubert Miller. She was raised and educated in Carlsbad. She had worked as a legal secretary for various law firms and then married a prominent attorney, Mike Rosenberg, who preceded her in death in 1992. Her brother, Bud, also preceded her in death earlier. Mrs. Rosenberg had been named Current-Argus Woman of the Year and A.J. Crawford Humanitarian of the Year by the Carlsbad Foundation. She was instrumental in raising funds for the restoration and preservation of the Eddy House. She was instrumental in bringing the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) to this city, as she was the first president of the Carlsbad Citizens for Energy Development. She had been very active in her community for the past 80 years, serving on many boards and civic organizations including the New Mexico Board of Blue Cross-Blue Shield and on the Carlsbad Museum and Art Center Boards. She also served with the Carlsbad Foundation, on the New Mexico Hospital Advisory Council, was a founding member of the Carlsbad Duplicate Bridge Club and was a member of the St. Francis Hospital Board. Mrs. Rosenberg is survived by her children, Michael Rosenberg of Palm Desert, CA, Linda Rosenberg-Yost of Carlsbad and Mary Ann Rosenberg-Weems of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Jason Harrison, Whitney Rosenberg, Amy Rosenberg, Elizabeth Weems, and Brian Weems; a brother, Bill Miller and wife, Jan, and their children, Debbie, Sharla and Paul, all of Carlsbad, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
