Davis -- Robert Bennett Davis, 59, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque on December 22, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 8, 1943, in Jacksonville, Florida, but his childhood was spent in Lynn, Massachusetts. In 1955 the family moved to Midland, Texas. Bob attended Southern Methodist University on a basketball/baseball scholarship and received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies in 1964. He earned a juris doctor degree with honors from SMU's Dedman School of Law in 1967. Based primarily in California, Bob worked variously as an attorney, muscian-artist manager and corporate executive from 1967 to 1995. He was Vice President of MCA Records, Inc., Universal City, California, 1974-1976 and President of Riva Records, Inc., Los Angeles, 1981-1984. Bob specialized in artist development and career direction for young recording groups and solo musicians, including Grammy Award winners (John Cougar Mellencamp and Tanya Tucker). From 1996 to 2002 Bob was proprietor of Robert Davis Management, a music entertainment management and consulting firm. Bob was a certified secondary social studies teacher, a driver operations trainer and safety instructor for SuperShuttle, Inc., and a lifelong athlete. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth (nee Winn) Davis. Robert is survived by his wife, Susan Wilkinson Davis, Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughter, Shannon Street, husband, Shane; and granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Gracee, Austin, Texas; daughter, Jodie Langhorne, husband, Jason; and grandsons, Ashton and Chance, Denton, Texas; step-daughter, Jill Partridge, Phoenix, Arizona; step-son, Tim Partridge; and step-daughter, Molly Cowan, Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is also survived by sister, Joanne Osley and husband, Bill; and nieces, Pam and Kim, Highland, Illinois; by sister, Julie Randolph, husband, Ron; and nephew, Frank, Palm Desert, California; and by parents-in-law, Annette and Clark Wilkinson, Midland, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on January 11, 2003, at the University of New Mexico Alumni Chapel, Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Robert B.
