Trujillo -- Ramona Chavez de Trujillo, 89, died February 27, 2003 in Tucson, Arizona, from complications from pneumonia. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. A Funeral Mass, attended by family and friends from California, New Mexico, and Arizona, was held March 3, 2003 at Saint Margaret's Catholic Church in Tucson. Burial was at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery in Tucson, in a joint plot with her husband of 52 years, Esiquio Gallegos Trujillo, who preceded her to heaven in 1982. Mrs. Trujillo was born in Lemitar, New Mexico, on November 19, 1913, to Pascual Chavez and Ramona Luna. She grew up in Quemado, New Mexico. She was the last survivor of ten children and was a descendant of one of the settlers of the Luna valley in Catron County, New Mexico. In 1930, she married Esiquio G. Trujillo in Quemado. In 1941, with their three young boys, Esiquio Jr., Pascual, and John, they moved to Clifton, Arizona, where daughter Bessie was born. All four children graduated from Clifton High School. After the 1983 flood in Clifton until 1995, she lived in Tucson with her middle son, Pascual and his wife, Rebecca. From 1995 to 2000, she lived in Luna, New Mexico with Pascual and Rebecca. From 2000 until her death, she lived in Tucson, Arizona at the House of Prayer, an assisted living home. She is survived by four children, Esiquio"Junior" (Irene) of La Puente, CA, Pascual (Rebecca) of Luna, NM; John (Frances) of La Puente, CA; and Bessie (Henry) Ochoa, of Apple Valley, CA; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
