Chavez -- Mr. Jose D. F. Chavez, 78, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on March 24, 2003. Mr. Chavez is the beloved husband of 57 years to Mrs. Nora Chavez. Mr. Chavez is also survived by seven daughters, Helena Maez, Linda Valdez and husband, Antonio, Rose Huerta and husband, Tomas, Mary Ann Torres and husband, Bennie, Dolores Sanders and husband, John, Norma Sena and Dorothy Chavez; nine sons, Navor Chavez and wife, Margaret, Ernesto Chavez and wife, Ruby, Joe Chavez and wife, Margie, Richard Chavez and wife, Carmen, Tim Chavez and wife, Terry, Mark Chavez and wife, Angie, Bobby Chavez and wife, Nina, Martin Chavez and wife, Desiree, Andrew Chavez and wife, Clara; four sisters, Martina Lucero, Della Marquez, Tome Lopez and husband, Alfonso and Betty"Belen" Hermosillo; one brother, Pablo Chavez; 40 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Chavez was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. Mr. Chavez was in the European Theater, battle campaigns, Normandy, Northern France, Rhine Land and Central Europe. Mr. Chavez received the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater, Victory Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal. A visitation for Mr. Chavez will be Friday evening after 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Terry Luna. A final Visitation will be Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont NE at Clairmont with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. A Committal Service will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE. Pallbearers will be, Navor Chavez, Ernesto Chavez, Joe Chavez, Richard Chavez, Tim Chavez, Mark Chavez, Bobby Chavez, Martin Chavez and Andrew Chavez.
