Chavez -- Jose D.F. Chavez, 78. On March 24, 2003 Jose D.F. Chavez completed his life's journey. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children as he peacefully passed away. He was a long time resident of New Mexico, born in Tucumcari. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in World War II and worked 14 years with the Santa Fe Railroad. He retired from civil service after several years with Cannon and Kirtland Air Force Bases. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo Feliciano and Meteria Chavez; three brothers; two sisters; one daughter, Angela Bibiano; and one son-in-law, Santiago Maez. He is survived by his wife, Nora M. Chavez; sons and daughters, Navor and Margaret Chavez of Las Cruces, Helena Maez, Ernesto and Ruby Chavez, Joe and Margie Chavez of Roswell, Richard and Carmen Chavez, Antonio and Linda Valdez, Ruben Bibiano, Tomas and Rose Huerta of Clovis, Bennie and Mary Ann Torres, John and Dolores Sanders of Del Rio, Texas, Tim and Terry Chavez, Norma Sena, Mark and Angie Chavez, Dorothy Chavez, Bobby and Nina Chavez, Martin and Desiree Chavez, Andrew and Clara Chavez; 33 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, March 28, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW off Coors Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont NE at Claremont. Graveside services to held at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE. Reception to be held at Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Church. Papa, Via con Dios.
