Barker -- Cecil Franklin Barker, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959 passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2003. Cecil was born September 5, 1913 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He had been a Mechanical Engineer in the aero engine manufacturing business before he retired. He and his wife Lucille used to live in the Paradise Hills area. He was very talented, did woodwork; had a lovely tenor voice, and sang at weddings and other events; did live radio work; was a member of the Shriners - Mounted Patrol; the Zia Roamers - RV Club; the Central Indiana Boaters Club; the Bernalillo County Sheriffs Posse; and was a member of the West Mesa Christian Church. Cecil is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lucille of Albuquerque; two sons, Daniel L. Barker and wife Kate of Littleton, CO, and Sidney S. Barker and wife Linda of Cedar Crest, NM; granddaughters, Candace Barker, Jane Smith and husband Joe; grandsons, Heath S. Barker and wife, Shawna, and Micah S. Barker and wife, Nicole; two great-grandchildren, Amber Dawn and Tristan Micah. A CryptsideService will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho. It has been suggested that memorials be given in Cecil'sname to the Shriner's Hospital, Galveston Unit, (Burn Unit), 815 Market St., Galveston, TX 77550-2725. Friends will be welcomed for a gathering at the home of Sid and Linda Barker in Cedar Crest on Saturday, April 5, 2003 after 5:00 PM.
