Chavez -- Arthur Chavez, 70, a resident of Los Chavez, passed away at his home while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 03, 2003. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Arthur was a Korean War Veteran receiving a Purple Heart and five Bronze Service Stars. He retired from the Civil Service after 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tiburcio and Rosina Chavez. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dorothy; four sons, Ronnie and his wife, Teresa, Gene and his wife, Dolores, Dean and his wife, Liz, and Peter; four daughters, Donna Goldkuhl and her husband, Donald, Cathy Buero and her husband, Kenny, Hope of the family home, and Faith and her companion, Mike Padilla; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and eight brothers and sisters, Presey, Corine, Gregorita, Simon, Frank, Tibo, Mary Helen and Nilda. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 06, 2003 at 1:30pm followed by a rosary at 2:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 07, 2003 at 10:00am.
