Barton -- Exa Barton, born in 1911, died on March 30, 2003 in Albuquerque, NM. She had outlived all of her family and leaves behind only her many friends. The children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of her college chum, Elsie Lancaster (nee Barcus) have all called her"aunt". She made many friends in nearly 20 years at La Vida Llena and instructed many, many children in 6th grade at Sombra del Monte and then Embudo Elementary Schools in the 1950's and 60's. She also had a good friend Jewell Reid, who has faithfully kept track of Exa for 40 years. Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 in the Chapel of LaVida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro NE, with Father Pio O'Connor officiating.
