Barton -- Exa Barton, born in 1911, died on March 30, 2003 in Albuquerque, NM. She had outlived all of her family and leaves behind only her many friends. The children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of her college chum, Elsie Lancaster (nee Barcus) have all called her"aunt". She made many friends in nearly 20 years at La Vida Llena and instructed many, many children in 6th grade at Sombra del Monte and then Embudo Elementary Schools in the 1950's and 60's. She also had a good friend Jewell Reid, who has faithfully kept track of Exa for 40 years. Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 in the Chapel of LaVida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro NE, with Father Pio O'Connor officiating. Brandenburg -- Kenneth C. Brandenburg died Saturday at the age of 61. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Brandenburg; seven sons, Paul, John, Allen, Jose, Franklin, Randell and Jonathan Brandenburg; four daughters, Theresa Sanchez, Antoinette Hoerl, Bernadette Mendez and Melissa Brandenburg; one sister, Gene Wachtman; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Carboni -- Phillip A. Carboni, 23, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on April 3, 2003. Phillip is survived by his mother, Joyce Brown Blaney and husband, Jim; his father, Fernando E. Carboni Sr; five brothers, Primitivo Gonzales, Michael Gonzlaes, Fernando N. Carboni Jr., Daniel Carboni and Andrew Carboni; his grandmother, Priscilla Maez; nephew, Andrew Primitivo Gonzales; special friend and companion, Maria; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the G. Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., Fernando Carboni Jr. will officiate. Chavez -- Larry G. Chavez To my Daddy, I lived all my life as daddy's little girl and that you're gone I feel so lost without my daddy even though I am now grown . Connor -- Wesley Olin Connor IV, age 54, a resident of Albuquerque for 30 years died April 1, 2003. Survivors include his sister, Kathleen C. Wesley served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Craft -- Barbara K. Craft, age 86, was born in Great Bend, Kansas, November 17, 1917. She was the widow of the late Dean Craft, who was killed in World War II. Barbara lived in Albuquerque for over 50 years. Barbara worked for several United States Agencies; Federal Civil Service employee, Social Security Administration in its early years, Soil Conservation Service for more than 25 years, and she also worked with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, retiring as an administrative assistant to the regional director at the Albuquerque office. Barbara was a graduate of UNM, and after retirement she was involved in many volunteer activities including the Albuquerque Zoo, La Dera nursing home and the Taylor Ranch Library. Barbara is survived by her sister, Betty K. Lambert of Salina, Kansas; niece, Karen Black also of Salina, Kansas; nephew, Dr. Paul Lambert of Dayton, Ohio. Dixon -- William Smith Dixon, 59, passed away peacefully at his North Valley home on March 27, 2003, after a yearlong courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Bill was born on October 5, 1943. He graduated from the Pingry School in New Jersey in 1961. He received a Bachelor of Arts Pi Beta Kappa from Princeton University in 1965. He received a doctor of laws from Yale University in 1968. Bill began a distinguished 35 year legal career with Rodey, Dickason, Sloan, Akin & Robb, PA, in 1968. He was a senior partner at the firm. He was also an adjunct Professor at the University of New Mexico Law School teaching constitutional law courses on the First Amendment for 20 years. Among the many awards he received were:"Champion of Liberty" from the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association,"Outstanding Lawyer" from the Albuquerque Bar Association,"Best Lawyers in American for first amendment and business law," and the"First Amendment Torch Award" from the ACLU of New Mexico. In addition, the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government established the 1st Amendment Freedom Award in his name. Bill was passionate about his family, his friends, his clients, freedom of speech, books, the law, politics, tennis and laughter. He was a lawyer's lawyer, who used his exceptional skills in defense of unpopular clients, whether they were large corporations or a solo voice that should be heard. Bill is survived by his wife, Valentina de Cruz-Dixon; his daughters, Naila de Cruz-Dixon, Sarah Dixon, Heather Badal; son-in-law, John Badal; granddaughters, Rhythm and Trinity Badal; sister, Elizabeth Dixon, NY; Bill's son, Santino de Crux-Dixon died four days before his father. Additional survivors are mother-in-law, Adelaida Cruz; sisters-in-law, Lola and husband, Robert Granillo, Frances and husband, Ernest Kemp, Angie Cruz, Adela and husband, Gary Kerns; and brother-in-law, Gregorio Cruz Jr. and wife, Anita, all of Tempe, Arizona, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Alma and John Dixon; and father-in-law, Gregorio Cruz. The Dixon family expresses their gratitude to Dr. Patrick Rivera, Dr. Richard Giudice and Dr. Susan Smith for their compassionate and quality medical care. In addition, the family wishes to thank the caring nurses at the New Mexico Cancer Center; Sharon Joyner from Presbyterian Home Health care; Janet, Sarah and Mary Jane from the Presbyterian Hospice with special gratitude to Norma Gutierrez, the hospice chaplain, for the loving support of Bill and the entire family. The family was blessed with many miraculous friends, who were Bill's angels helping the family care for him around the clock in the final weeks of his life. We are grateful for our wonderful friends. Eimer -- Guenther Max Eimer, 80, of Rio Rancho, passed away April 1, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Irmtraud Eimer and Ronald Montoya, the son he never had. Mr. Eimer was born in Germany on August 7, 1922, and moved to Buffalo, NY in 1927 with his family. In 1940, Guenther joined the Army as a paratrooper and was wounded in Okinawa on April 10, 1945. He was a World War II veteran and was honored with the Purple Heart. Guenther married Irmtraud on May 8, 1971 and has lived in New Mexico for the last 32 years. Guenther was ill for several long years. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Monday, April 7, 2003, 11:00 am at Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel. Flynt -- Jim D. Flynt (Buddy) Our beloved Jim was the first son of¯ Mary E. and Jim F Flynt. He passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident April 2, 2003. He was born Sept 18,1949 in Alamogordo, NM. Jim had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1950. Jim attended local schools, Highlands University and graduating with a GPA 4.0 in electronics. Jim joined the USAF in1968 and was a decorated veteran of the Viet Nam war serving as an airborne¯communications intercept operator gathering vital enemy intelligence and targeting information. He was an entrepreneur embarking on a number of startup companies the last of which is Estancia Valley Mobile Homes, LLC. He was very active in the East Mountain Communities working to provide affordable housing alternatives to low income families. He will be remembered most ¯by his charismatic and personable nature. Jim is survived by his wife loving wife Annie , daughter's Kathleen and partner Steve Drake, Shelley and son Matthew. Grandchildren: Kathleen's children Kylene Flynt, Kayla Flynt and Brandon Drake and Matthew's son Tyler Flynt. Parents Jim F. and Mary E. Flynt, sister's Gerry Brooks, Jeanne Kubiak, Peggy Dumas and Mary Sue Flynt, brother Ken Flynt , his nephews and nieces that loved him. Many aunts, uncles and family, also surviving Jim his bestfriend from childhood Robert Chall and wife Robin and close friend Lee Hardwick. A memorial at the Moriarty Civic Center will be held at 10:00 am and a Graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park at 2:00 Monday, April 7, 2003 in Albuquerque.

Fulbright -- Sarah L. Fulbright, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, departed this life April 2, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Jannie Fulbright-Hall of Albuquerque; sister, Marzilla Yates of Paris, TX; four grandchildren, Tamika L. Hall, TeNesha R. Hall, Johnny R. Hall II, all of Albuquerque, and Stacy Mitchell of New Boston, TX; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, friends and family that will greatly miss her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Fulbright; father, Willie Thornton; mother, Lula Thornton-Russell; brother, Willie B. Thornton, Jr.; and stepfather, Lon Russell. Fuller -- Mark David Fuller, 49, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 31, 2003. Mark is survived by his mother, Annie; loving caretakers, Almita and Rudy Pacheco of Albuquerque; loyal friends Eloy and Gary; brothers, Drew and Steve of Albuquerque; and sister, Ginger McLamore of McKinney, TX. Mark also had four nieces, Angela, Jeni, Jesi, and Sarah; three nephews, Eric, Kyle and Kory; and one great-niece, Sophia. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Fuller; and his father. Mark was born in Kermit, TX, on September 26, 1953 to Andra Lee Fuller and Annie Lee Moreau Fuller. The family moved to McLean, TX in 1957 and back to Jal, NM in 1966 where Mark graduated from high school in 1972. Mark's school days were filled with many friends and fond memories. He was an avid and gifted golfer throughout his high school days and enjoyed working in the Pro Shop at the Jal Country Club. Mark received a scholarship to play golf for Clarendon"Texas" Jr. College. After his junior college days, Mark joined the US Navy and served aboard the USS Monticello. He enjoyed traveling with Rudy and Almita Pacheco and looked forward to their next excursion. He was a good hearted, gregarious and loving person who liked to share his ideas with all. Mark's nieces and nephews dearly loved to chat with him and will truly miss not having conversations about the system. Mark loved macaroni and cheese, red beans and rice, drinking Dr. Peppers, smoking Marlboro cigarettes, and reading candy wrapper labels to the amusement of everyone. The Veterans Hospital Staff were among Mark's biggest fans and were deeply sadden to hear of his passing. Services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2003, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Hand -- Jessie Belle Hand, 95, a resident of Manzano Del Sol in Albuquerque, died Thursday, April 3, 2003 of age related causes. Mrs. Hand was born March 7, 1908, in Cederdale, OK, to Walter and Margaret Harris. After graduating from high school she then received her teaching degree from Oklahoma Territorial Normal School in Norman, OK. She taught school in Fairview, OK. She married Jay Loyd Hand in Taloga, OK on September 26, 1927. In 1939 Jessie and Jay moved to Kelso, WA. Here Jessie worked in the Portland Shipyards during WWII and as a cook in the Kelso area. After retiring, she moved to Veneta, OR then onto Albuquerque. Some of her interests included cooking, crossword puzzles, gardening, quilting, and reading. Mrs. Hand is survived by her daughter, Betty Silva and husband, Lou of Veneta, OR; son-in-law, Loyd Goatcher of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Loyd Hand on September 26, 1954; and daughter, LaDonna Goatcher on December 23, 2000. Services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., at the Chester T. Hayes -- James E. (Eddie) Hayes, born on December 23, 1926, passed away March 27, 2003.¯ He drove truck for Consolidated Freightways and Motor Cargo. He was born in Akron Ohio, served in the US Navy, married Norma Jean Smith and drove city bus in Akron for 8 years before moving up to the big trucks. He moved his family to Albuquerque in 1969. He was also very proud of his service with the New Mexico Rangers.¯ His wife, his four children, his three grandchildren continue to be inspired by him. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Howard -- Randall Lee Howard, age 51, died Wednesday April 2nd 2003. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Miller, sisters; Mary Elizabeth Howard and husband Dennis Key, Shelley Kay Wanner and husband Edward, Ann Marie Gutierrez and husband Ofie, step-children; Gregory Miller, Marita Stone, and Anastasia Miller, nieces; Jessica Cisko, Jasmine Porter, Trish Gutierrez, nephew, Lee Gutierrez and many close friends. Randall was preceded in death by his parents Waldon and Selma Howard and by his brother Martin Howard. Randall was an avid hunter and fisherman, collector of guns, as well as a lifetime member of the New Mexico Railrunners, a model Railroading club. Cremation has taken place. Kirchmeier -- James B. Kirchmeier,age 87, died Thursday April 3, 2003. His daughter Sherril Kirchmeier of Albuquerque and son Brent Kirchmeier of Tijeras survive him. His wife Millie Kirchmeier preceded him in death in May 1983. Jim spent many years raising his family in Morairaty, NM. He was constantly remodeling around the home. Rudy served proudly in the US Navy for 23 years, during both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. Lueras -- Jonathon Anthony Lueras, 19, a wonderful son, brother and father was taken from us on Tuesday, April 1st, 2003. Montoya -- Ruby R. Montoya, 81, was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, April 3, 2003. She was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, a member of the Catholic Daughters and American Legion. Ruby was an avid gardener and was especially fond of bowling, which she did for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Albert E. Montoya. Rollag -- Ole J. Rollag, 80, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years, died Thursday, April 3, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Buddy Rollag of Albuquerque; sons, Mark D. Rollag and wife, Virginia Johnson of Chevy Chase MD and Tom Rollag of Anthony, NM; grandsons, Benjamin Rollag of Albuquerque and Ole Rollag and wife, Catherine; great-grandson, Nicklos Rollag, all of Luxembourg; and sister, Avis Lovro and husband, Stan of Sioux Falls, SD. Dr. Rollag was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Dr. Rollag practiced Veterinary Medicine for 30 years, and was selected twice for the New Mexico Veterinarian of the Year. He built Blue Cross, Sandia and Manzano Animal Clinic. Dr. Rollag served on the New Mexico State Public Health Veterinarian for nine years and was Executive Director of the New Mexico Veterinarian Examining Board for seven years. He was very active in the Local, State and National Veterinary Associations, was a past member of Coronado Toastmasters, Elks Club, Albuquerque Rotary Club and the Lions Club. Dr. Rollag was past President of the Four Hills Country Club. Ballut Abyad Shrine and Duke City Bridge Club. Sangre -- Jose Alcario"Al", 77, passed into the arms of his Creator on April 1, 2003. Al was a member and resident of Isleta Pueblo and was known to his people as"Shirpuyo." Al was the beloved and devoted husband of Emma Marie Sangre; daughters, Frances Mirabal, Anna Marie Cuaron and husband, Anthony, Evangeline"Bobbi" Sangre, Gloria T. Gibson and husband, Archie; sons, Anthony Alcario Sangre and Phillip Sangre. He is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Felipe; mother, Juana Bautista"Shiepap"; brothers, Carlos and Patrick, Sangre. Al was a lifelong parishioner of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Isleta, Pueblo; and a proud and courageous U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. Al served in WWII in the Pacific Theatre and saw action in Kwajalein Atoll on January of 1944; Eniwetok Atoll in February; and Guam and the Mariana Islands in July through august 10, 1944; Okinawa and the Ryukyu Islands on the southern tip of Japan where on June 13, 1945 he was wounded in action. For his gallantry, Al received the Purple Heart as well as other commendations. He returned home to Isleta after the war. Al held several jobs as a painter at the local air base and then became a Tribal Police Officer for the Pueblo of Isleta. Searching for a bigger challenge in life, Al joined the Bureau of Indian Affairs, as a Police Officer. He excelled in his classes at the Indian Police Academy and was commended for leadership among cadets. He returned to the Southern Pueblos Agency in Albuquerque where he rose through the ranks to become the Supervisory Criminal Investigator for the Southern Pueblos Agency. He then was promoted to the top law enforcement position in the Albuquerque Area as the Agency Special Officer. Al Sangre retired from the BIA on June 30, 1984. Al answered the call of the Isleta Pueblo when he was chosen as Lt. Governor. Still yet, acknowledging his leadership capabilities and his strong traditional upbringing, tribal elders selected him three times for the traditional leadership as War Captain. The family wishes to thank all those friends and relatives who visited Al during his illness and who helped out during the funeral. A special thanks goes to his Kiva son, Dikki Garcia who gave the eulogy at the Mass of Christian Burial; to Susan Velasquez, from Senator Domenici's Office; and the Veterans Administration fro the American flag; to Honorable Governor Alvino Lucero for presentation of the American flag; and to the Tribal officials who made themselves available to the family; to Henry Estrada, Band Director at Los Lunas High School for presentation of"Taps", at the cemetery; and special thanks to the Law Enforcement Officers, Police Officers of the Southern Pueblos Agency and Isleta Pueblo Police Department where Al Sangre was previously employed fro their service as honor guards at the funeral. Al Sangre will be greatly missed by his family and the community of Isleta Pueblo. Graveside Services were held on April 2, 2003 in Isleta Pueblo.

Stromberg -- Robert Patrick Stromberg passed away April 1, 2003. Son of Gustaf A. Stromberg and Marcella (McMahon) Stromberg,"Bob" was born August 10, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bob served as a navigator in the US Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946. After WWII, Bob attended the University of Minnesota including graduate studies in physics. Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Stromberg and brother Thomas Gustaf Stromberg of Minneapolis. Bob and Pat had 10 children. Bob was preceded in death by sons Joe (1959), John (1954-1975) and Tom (1953-2000). Surviving children include Mary"Hari" Sheppeard, Mark, Ann Mahony, Peter, Paul, James, Marcella; and 21 grandchildren. Bob and Pat were founding members of the Holy Ghost Parish in 1952. Bob worked at Sandia National Labs from 1950-1991. Bob held patents on a weightlessness switch and a solar tracking device. His contributions at Sandia included weapons safing development and starting the solar energy group. Bob shared his time with friends and family in church activities, as well as tinkering, hunting, camping, fishing, golfing and traveling. Bob was ordained as a Deacon in the Catholic Church in 1993 and served the Archdiocese of Santa Fe until his retirement in 2000.¯ A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 6, 2003 and the Funeral will be on Monday, April 7, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. Both Services will be at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 921 Arizona, S.E. Tate -- Barbara Jean Metten Larsen Tate, age 75, joined her precious Lord Jesus on Monday, 03-03-03, (March 3, 2003). She is remembered as a gentle and benevolent woman who was a great friend and a joyful role model to her children and grandchildren. Barbara had a unique ice cream smile and exceptional blue eyes. She was an active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos, New Mexico where for many years she was an Eucharistic Minister. She also volunteered at the Los Alamos Medical Center. She loved to be out of doors belonging to the hiking group the Wednesday Wanderers for about 30 years. With this group and her husband Gene Tate hikes were completed in New Mexico, other areas of the United States, Europe and South America. She also loved to ski, both downhill and cross-country and ride her bicycle. Two memorable bicycle rides were down a steep and winding road in the Jemez Mountains in New Mexico and up Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado. She was an intrepid bridge player with a no-trump specialty. She loved to take college classes, collect rocks and was a graceful, happy dancer. Once her children began college she began working at the Mesa Public Library in Los Alamos. She is remembered as a cheerful woman who loved life, who like a delicate sound of thunder was a mighty prayer warrior for Jesus and as a mother who loved her children. She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, Donald Larson and Eugene Tate and her two brothers Chester and Richard Metten. She is survived by her children, Claire O'Brien of Woodbridge, V A, Kathleen Larson of Torrance, CA, Glenn Larson of La Cueva, NM, Karen Light of Braidwood, IL, Rebecca Baser of Belen, NM, Eric Larson of Cerro Los Pinos, NM, Braddon Larson of Basalt, CO, Curt Larson of Aspen, CO, her 11 grandchildren, one great grandson and one sister Joan Scholl of IL. Terrazas -- Mark A. Terrazas, 38, a New Mexico resident since 1972, passed away April 3, 2003. Trinosky -- Dr. Donald L. died on Thursday, April 3, 2003."Kindly Doctor Don" was born and attended high school in LaCrosse, Indiana, where he was valedictorian of his graduating class. Doc played on the varsity baseball team and was captain of the basketball team."Kindly Doctor Don" graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine where he played baseball. He was a Captain and Medical Director with the US Army at the Army Medical Hospital in Kitzengen, Germany. Doc moved to Albuquerque in 1956 when he opened his practice at Medical Arts Square, and continued his practice until June of 2002. His brother, Dr. Frank Trinosky, who preceded him in death, joined him in practice at La Mesa Medical Center in 1961. Doc provided medical care to many people who were unable to pay for his services. Donald was an avid skier and volunteered many years with La Madiera and Sandia Ski Patrol. He took great pride in supporting the Lobo Athletic Program and was a member of the booster club. He was a season ticket holder for both the Lobo men's basketball and football, since the late 1950's. The Kindly Doctor is survived by his wife Shelley and their son Kyle C. Trinosky; his son, Kim S.Trinosky and partner, Shirley Griggs; daughter, Krista Pickett and Gavin Pickett. Grandchildren are Jenna Pickett, Colleen Griggs and Carla Griggs. He is also survived by his brother Gene Trinosky and wife Mary and their children Kenny and Jackie, all residing in California. Voss -- Mary Alice Voss Collens went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2003. She passed away at her home in Albuquerque. Mary Alice was born in Dawson, Nebraska on December 29, 1923.
