Lopez -- Serafin M. Lopez, age 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, Sunday, April 13, 2003. Serafin was born in Carnuel, NM to the late Frederico and Roselita Lopez. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, who served our county during World War II. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Sandoval. Serafin is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sofie H. Lopez of the family home; his wonderful children, Felix Lopez and wife Eileen, Steve Lopez and wife Kathy, Eddie Lopez and Orlinda (Orly), and George Lopez and wife Marilyn; his precious grandchildren, Rossann Barns and husband Robert, Eric Lopez and Nancy, Felicia Lopez, Jacob Lopez and Michelle, Stephanie Lopez, Afton Lopez, Donna Lopez and Ryan Lopez; great-grandchildren, Tyler Barns, Tanner Barns, Alanzo Lopez, Eric Lopez, Jr. and Fabian Gurule. Also surviving are two brothers, Ruben Lopez and wife Ella, Carlos Lopez and wife Delia; two sisters, Lillie Sedillo and husband Joe, Rose Garcia and husband Louie; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Serafin (Papa) will greatly be missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be held Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. also in the chapel. Final viewing will be held Wednesday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Casket bearers will be Robert Barns, Eric Lopez, Jacob Lopez, Tommy Sandoval, Robert Rudy, and Joe Herrera. Honorary bearers will be Ryan Lopez, Gilbert Sandoval and Daniel Gutierrez. Funeral services are entrusted to: Alameda Mortuary 9420 4th Street NW 898-3160
