Aragon -- Juan Jose Aragon went in peace with Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, April 12, 2003, at the age of 96. Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Aragon and Brigidia Serna; sister, Frances Serna; sons, Salvador Aragon, Andres Aragon, Juan J. Aragon Jr.; granddaughter, Adriana Silva. Juan is survived by his wife, Virginia Aragon; daughters, Betty Perrucci and Estella Silva; sons, Frank Aragon, Gilbert Aragon, Robert, Aragon; sister, Getruditas Padilla; daughters-in-law, Eduvigen Aragon, and Olivia; sons-in-law, Cirilio Silva, and Gene Robert Perrucci; brother-in-law, Demetrio Serna; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW., on Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery. Chavez -- Bennie E. Chavez, 79, an angel of God was called away suddenly on April 12, 2003 to continue his journey with his dear Lord. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa. He is survived by his loving wife, Ophelia of 54 years; his four sons, Melvin and wife, Loretta Chavez, Michael, Tommy and Mark; two daughters, Barbara and husband, Louie Jacques, Cindy and Michael T. Archuleta; 11 grandchildren, Kimberlee Struck and husband, Julian, Shannon, Robbie and Brandon Jacques, Justine and Adrienne Duran, Mikie, Mathew, James, Eric and Jordan Chavez; four brothers, Max and wife, Mary Chavez of Barstow, CA, Ignacio and wife, Mabel Chavez of Espanola, NM, Abran and wife, Joan Chavez of Mesa, AZ, Gilbert and wife, Elsie Chavez of Belen, NM; and sister, Concha Sanchez also of Belen, NM; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Bennie was born in Pinos Wells, NM in 1924 and grew up in Duran, NM. In 1943, he joined the U.S. Army. He was a WWII Veteran who became a medical technician with the 289th. Station Hospital which was the first medical unit to land in Guam. They rendered medical and surgical care under less than ideal conditions. After his honorable discharge he attended college at Highlands University and received his degree in Aviation Mechanics. There he met the love of his life, Ophelia. They were married in Penasco, NM in 1948, and made their home in Albuquerque. He continued his work with the Department of Defense as a Civil Service Agent with the Federal Defense Nuclear Agency and retired after 38 years of loyal service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13. Over the years he received numerous awards and commendations. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Juan and Aurelia Chavez, 11 brothers, Antonio, Esequel, Alejandro, Eutimio, Daniel, Paul, Edenio, George, Daniel, Ray and Andy and two sisters, Lupita and Vina. Beanie was a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish for 50 years. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and being outdoors; he loved to dance and was most happy when he was giving of himself He was a constant pillar of strength for all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him, His warm smile and giving nature will be a loss that is immeasurable. Dad, you were a constant in our lives, a giver, an inspiration and an example of the good and kindness in this world that we will forever hold in our hearts. We will miss your presence, but we take comfort in knowing you have gone home to rest. Visitations will be held on Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11:30 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Robbie Jacques, Brandon Jacques, Melvin Chavez, March Chavez, Michael Chavez and Tommy Chavez. Dorsey -- Kristina Ann Dorsey, 25, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, April 14, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Mike Dorsey of Albuquerque; daughters, Madison and Kylee, both of Albuquerque; mother, Karen Durbin and husband, Michael of Albuquerque; father, Ron Faris and wife, Trish of Rio Rancho; sister, Ronna Faris of Albuquerque; and grandparents, Paul and Maud Ella Whiteman of Albuquerque and Carroll and Marilyn Faris of Rio Rancho, NM. Kristina was born in Casper, WY and attended school in Gallup, NM. She graduated from Cortez, Colorado High School. Kristina also attended UNM. She was a licensed real estate agent in New Mexico for Prudential Southwest Realty. Kristina was a beloved wife, loving mother of two, daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Flowers -- Willard E. (Bill) Flowers, age 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years died April 12, 2003. Survivors include daughter, Cheryl Jenny and husband, Robert of MS; son, William Flowers and wife Laurie of NC; brothers, Charles Sorgen and Marrion Sorgen both of OH; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Willard is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly in 1990. He was retired from Sandia Nat'l Laboratories since 1989. Gonzales -- On April 12, 2003, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Roy G. Gonzales, 65, was called by our Lord to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Roy is survived by his beloved family, wife Emma, sons Paul Gonzales and wife Karen from Corrales, Daniel Gonzales from Rio Rancho, and his grandson James Gonzales form Corrales. Also surviving are his mother Inez Gonzales from Albuquerque, his sister Adelina Cordova and husband Joe from Albuquerque, brothers Eddie Gonzales and wife Irene, and Bevian Gonzales from Phoenix, AZ, Lee Gonzales and fiancée Linda from Albuquerque, Morris Gonzales and wife Katy from Albuquerque, a very special friend Michelle Saenz, and may relatives and friends. Roy was preceded in death by his father Eduardo Gonzales, sister Dulcinea Gonzales, and brother Horacio Gonzales. Roy was born on May 7, 1937 in Ft. Sumner, NM. Joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1958. He joined the Albuquerque Fire Department in 1959 and, after 26 years of dedicated service, retired in 1985 as Assistant Chief (Fire Marshall). During his firefighting career, Roy earned his Bachelors Degree in Public Administration at the University of Albuquerque, and his Masters Degree from the University of New Mexico. He also taught Fire Technology at the University of Albuquerque. In 1986 Roy and Emma retired to Bernalillo where they have lived for the past 15 years. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, whom he was very proud of. His grandson, James was his pride and joy. He was able to travel to many countries, making friends everywhere he went. After a courageous battle with his illness, the Angels came to get him, much sooner than we planned. God has him back again and our memories are what will sustain us until we meet again. We will love and remember him forever. Rosary will be recited by Fr. Bill Sanchez on Monday, April 14, at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Mass will be celebrated on April 15 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Virgil Furfuro officiating and Fr. Bill Sanchez as co-celebrant. Hill -- Jennie Lopez Hill was born October 28, 1904 in Socorro, NM. She was one of seven brothers and seven sisters born to Martin Lopez Sr. and Isabel Lopez. Mrs. Hill passed away in El Paso, TX on April 12, 2003. John Hill, her husband of 66 years, preceded her in death January 11, 2001. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Hines and husband, Jim of Albuquerque; son, Martin Hill of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; brother, Florentino, Lopez and wife, Beatrice of Bosque, NM; brother-in-law, Tom Hill and wife, Mary of Albuquerque. Jennie was a lifelong citizen of New Mexico and a member of the Catholic Church. She taught school for a number of years in Magdalena, NM. Burial will take place in El Paso, TX at the National Cemetery.

Hoppman -- William B. Bill Hoppman, 70, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, April 13, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marilyn Hoppman of Albuquerque; daughter, Patricia Herrera and husband, Marty of Albuquerque; son, Bob Hoppman and wife, Lydia of Rio Rancho; daughters, Karol Como and husband, Scott of Scottsdale, AZ and Cindy Hoppman of Mesa, AZ; nine grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Marguerite Mootz of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents, I.M. and Mary Hoppman of Albuquerque. Mr. Hoppman was an avid tennis player. He belonged to the Professional Business Consultant Associates. Lopez -- Serafin M. Lopez, age 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, Sunday, April 13, 2003. Serafin was born in Carnuel, NM to the late Frederico and Roselita Lopez. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, who served our county during World War II. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Sandoval. Serafin is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sofie H. Lopez of the family home; his wonderful children, Felix Lopez and wife Eileen, Steve Lopez and wife Kathy, Eddie Lopez and Orlinda (Orly), and George Lopez and wife Marilyn; his precious grandchildren, Rossann Barns and husband Robert, Eric Lopez and Nancy, Felicia Lopez, Jacob Lopez and Michelle, Stephanie Lopez, Afton Lopez, Donna Lopez and Ryan Lopez; great-grandchildren, Tyler Barns, Tanner Barns, Alanzo Lopez, Eric Lopez, Jr. and Fabian Gurule. Mackenzie -- Pearl (Schifani) MacKenzie born May 12th 1914 transitioned from this realm at noon, April 13th in Colorado. Pearl was 88 years old. Born in York, Pennsylvania she came to Albuquerque at age three and lived most of her life in New Mexico. A former model, Pearl taught shorthand for many years at the Albuquerque Business College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Raymond (WR) MacKenzie and her best friend Patsy Bezmek. She is survived by her three daughters, Dr. Gayle P. MacKenzie and her husband, Bill Logan of Morrison, Colorado, Ms. Ola Mae Romero and her partner, Roger Kleinhaus of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Dr. Gordene O. MacKenzie and her partner, Nancy Nangeroni of N. Reading, Massachusetts; lifelong friends, Ann and Dave Torres, Denise Abbott; two brothers, Daniel Schifani and Ted Schifani; grandchildren, Roxanne Segura, Douglas Romero, Tammie Dembitz, Wendy Craig, and Mark Romero: five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Proud of her Sicilian and Russian heritage, Pearl was known in New Mexico not only for her beauty, but also for her strong spirit, wild infectious laughter, generosity and her beautiful opera voice. Martinez died Monday, April 14, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 81. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her husband, Carlos Martinez; children, Carl Martinez and wife, Agnes, Diane Harsh and husband, Buzz, Rose Marie Martinez, Bernadette Miera and husband, Rick, and Mark Martinez; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Charlie Romero, Bertha White, Josephine Runnels, Horace Romero and Margaret Dye. To a wonderful mother who provided for her children and was always there for others. She had an undying love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all. Funeral Services for Mrs. Martinez will be held on Wednesday at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place on Thursday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Dana Moore, Matthew Hursh, Sabastian Martinez, Carlos Miera, Stephen Miera and Mark Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Tenorio, Rick Miera and Buzz Hursh. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

Mckinnon -- Honorable Dan A. McKinnon, III, 63, a resident of Albuquerque since 1941, died Saturday, April 12, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Arnold McKinnon of the family home; daughter, Barbara McKinnon of Los Angeles, CA; sons, D. Ian McKinnon and wife, Sonnet of Greenwich, CT and Eric Schmidt, with the US Army, Tokyo, Japan and wife, Susan; grandchildren, William Angus McKinnon, Ashley Love McKinnon, Jackson Taylor Schmidt, Thomas Christopher Schmidt and Trevor Angus Schmidt; sisters, twin sister, Lou Wellborn and Paula McKinnon; brother-in-law, Honorable Frank H. Allen, Jr.; many loving nieces and nephews; and Dan's children's mother, Karen McKinnon Stibolt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. D. Angus McKinnon, Jr. and Mary Love McKinnon and sisters, Joan Allen and Molly Burnett. Dan was born June 27, 1939, in Rochester, MN and moved to Albuquerque when he was two years old. He graduated from the old Albuquerque High School, received a BS in biology from the University of New Mexico and received a LLB from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dan was a justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court, member of the Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education, member of the TVI Board of Education and a lawyer for over 30 years in New Mexico. He was a lifelong democrat, accomplished jazz drummer, and the only Supreme Court Justice who played jazz at his own swearing-in. Dan was a loving, honest, gentle, forthright husband, father and friend. His parting words were peace and love. Myers -- Nadine K. Myers, 88, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, April 13, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Betty L. Pierceall -- Mary Catherine Pierceall, 81, a longtime resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2003. Mary was born March 19, 1922 the daughter of Anthony and Georgia Leible Pierceall in Charleston, Missouri. She had been a teacher in the elementary and junior high areas of the New Mexico public schools. She was a music and voice teacher. She was a lay member of the Carmel Lights Auxiliary, lay member of the Franciscans, and she organized and directed numerous church choirs. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Moulder in 1975, two sons, Dwight Genz in 1946, and Joseph Genz in 1992. She is survived by five children, Michael Genz of Oakdale, IA, Theresa Clark of Albuquerque, NM, Auda Jansen of Hawaii, Ursula Genz of San Diego, CA, and Richard Genz of Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Dolores Langer of Tucson, AZ; one brother, Norbert Pierceall of Illinois; three grandchildren, Denise Webb, Cynthia Bates, and Donna Genz; seven great-grandchildren, Autumn Webb, Anthony Webb, Joseph Webb, April Bates, Valerie Bates, plus two. Reno -- Patrick J. Reno, D.O., 66, born October 10, 1936, in Wayne, MI, died April 12, 2003 in St. Elizabeth Hospital Belleville, IL. He is survived by his wife, Dianne Reno nee Blumyer; sons, Mark T. Reno and wife, Cindy, Albuquerque, Ned B. Reno, Albuquerque, and Patrick G. Romero -- Consuelo Romero, also known as"Connie" or"Chelo", age 72, has risen with the Lord on April 14, 2003. Connie was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on October 22, 1930. She was married to David R. Romero in 1952. A resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico for 48 years she had many many friends. She was a long time Bowler and Avon Representative. Being a parishioner of St. Therese of the Little Flower Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church she was a Lector and played an active roll in the Cursillo Movement. Connie enjoyed many things in life from camping and traveling with her young family to her"retirement" year trips with her husband David. She especially enjoyed the long road trips where prayer and quality time took place. She was an avid Lady Lobo Fan and loved to CHEER them on. Her favorite hobby was shopping. She thrived to get a bargain. She always knew what everyone liked and her face would light up when they opened it with the joy she expected she'd see. She loved to take care of her husband, her children, her grandchildren and her mother. In everything she did, she showed love. Everyone she touched she taught Family, Faith, Love, Friendship and so much more. In God's Kingdom she joins her father, Manuel Ortiz; and son-in-law, Joe Estrada. She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, David R. Romero; her mother, Erminia Ortiz; her sons, Raymond, Charley, Michael, and Orlando Romero; her daughters, Rosanne Tena and husband, Richard, Camille Melton and husband, Jeff, and Marcella Gallegos and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Lisa Ortiz and husband, Kenny, Sarah and Adam Melton, Jaimie and Jessica Romero, Jeana Rae, David, Diego and Yleana Gallegos; great-grandson, Isaac Estrada; sisters, Teresa Salazar and husband, Ben, Imelda Rodriguez and husband, Bobby; brothers, Manuel B. Romero -- Edward B. Romero"Eddie", age 86, beloved father and grandfather, was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 13, 2003. Mr. Romero, a lifelong resident of Old Town, was born March 23, 1917, was a parishioner of St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church and served in the US. Navy Reserves. Eddie was in the lathe business, and was a member of the Carpenters Union #1319, having retired in 1976. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine A. Romero and is survived by his children, Lorenzo Romero and wife, Maria Esther, Elaine Chavez and husband, Julian, Joseph Romero and wife, Carol, and Elizabeth Lucero and husband, Tony; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Freddie Romero, and one sister, Mary Jane Romero. Sullivan -- Elizabeth Turner Sullivan, a resident of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, April 14, 2003 in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W."Bill" Sullivan. She will be missed by her brother, Jack and wife, Ruby; several nieces and nephews; and loving friends, Don and Henrietta Hays. Her neighbors, Bob and Nina Lytle, Sylvia and Ro Garcia and their daughters, Lynsey, Linda, and Romie, and Kathy Sandlin have been valued, loved, and loving friends. Elizabeth was cared for by the special staff at Memorial Hospital in Las Cruces and at Vincor Hospital in Albuquerque. Her doctor, Dr. Michael Donnellan, made her smile brighter and her eyes twinkle as he cared for her. The special staff at the Albuquerque Care Center cared for her the last two years. She was tough on them and for them, but she loved them. She commented that sometimes a smile made people forgive the other things she did that were not so pleasant. We hope the ACC staff members know how much we appreciated their tender, funny, gentle care. Watts -- Woodrow W. Watts, 88, died Sunday, April 13, 2003, in the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mr. Watts was born on August 28, 1914 in Monticello, Arkansas. He served in the United States Navy from 1940 through 1946 and was in 5 major campaigns during WWII. Woodrow was a 32nd Degree Master Mason, Scottish Rite, Temple Lodge #6, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter #3. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gladys, of Albuquerque; son and daughter-in-law, Claude and Lori Watts of Las Vegas NV; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Robert Buzzell of Albuquerque; and son and daughter-in-law, Woodrow Jr. and Vicki Watts of Grandbury TX. Woodrow has nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Private services will be held at a later date in Monticello, Arkansas.
