Hamilton -- Donald Raymond Hamilton passed away at home early Friday, April 25, 2003. 2-19-29 - �4-25-03 Oldest son of Raymond Whittier Hamilton and Elizabeth Slattery Hamilton Born in Denver Colorado. Moved to California when a youth, graduated from Topeka High School, Topeka, Kansas. After a 2 year tour of duty with U. S. Army, Don returned to Topeka and married Virginia Woodward on February 20, 1954. After graduation from Washburn University with a BA in Accounting, Don was employed by Sears Roebuck and, transferred to Santa Fe in 1964 as controller of the downtown Sears store. Don's last 25 years of employment were with the New Mexico State Corporation Commission, retiring in December 1990.�The last few years he helped distribute commodities for the Senior Centers. Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia, of 49 years, four adored children - Cynthia Mae Chambers and husband, Robert of Colorado Springs, CO, Jean Elizabeth Taylor and husband, Michael of Santa Fe, Douglas Wade and wife, Libby Butler Hamilton of Las Cruces, and Stuart Raymond Hamilton and AnnMarie Lynch of Santa Fe.�The lights of his life were his wife, children, their spouses and his grandchildren: Chad, Tiffany, Scott, and Kimberly Chambers; Eva, Danielle, Sarah, and Michael Taylor; and Derrek and Amelia Hamilton. He also leaves his brothers, Theodore Hamilton and wife, Patricia of Las Vegas, NV and Patrick Hamilton of Alba, TX.; and many nieces and nephews scattered all over the country. Donald was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His passing leaves a huge hole in the lives of all who knew and loved him. �He was a big man with an even bigger heart. �Scruffy, Slick, and MT will also miss him.
