Lucero -- Mr. Louie G. Lucero, also known as"Valico" to many friends, 74, a resident of Raton, NM, went to his resting place with the angels on April 26, 2003. He was born February 26, 1929 in Albuquerque. He was met at Heaven's gate by his parents, Oronzo and Eutimia Lucero, and brother, Joe Lucero. Louie is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Elizabeth"Lizzie" Lucero; one daughter, Anita Lucero and Richard Sanchez of Albuquerque; sons, Rudy and wife, Kathy of Albuquerque, Ronnie and wife, Liz of Albuquerque, Patrick Lucero and Georgia Garcia of Raton; brother, Elias Lucero and wife, Rose; sister, Lucy Ubena and husband, Juan and their son, Transito Montoya, all of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Louie worked as a police officer for 11 years and was also a business owner."Uncle Louie" was a diamond that put a sparkle on many lives and touched many hearts throughout the community with his great humor and personality and will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
