Jones -- G. Allen Jones, 54, beloved husband, father, brother and son, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2003. Allen touched the lives of all who knew him and he will be greatly missed by his friends, family, and co-workers. He was born December 7, 1948 in Oklahoma, to Gene Allen and Kathryn P. Jones. After graduation from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Allen served his country at various bases around the world. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Alison Crompton; daughter, Lindsay Jones; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Yvette Jones; mother, Kathryn P. Jones; sister, M. Francie Stevens; and mother-in-law, Cora Crompton. He is also survived by loving in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Allen; his brother, Gaylyn Floyd; and his infant son, Scott Crompton Jones. Allen served faithfully in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His happiest times were working in the church and being with his family. He loved playing golf with his son and watching his daughter play softball. For the past 12 years, Allen had been employed by Los Alamos National Laboratory where he made many lasting friendships. Services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2003, at 11:00 a.m., at the San Victorio L.D.S. Chapel, 11750 San Victorio NE, with Bishop Robert Hall presiding. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.
