Puckett -- Mary A. Harrell Puckett, 89, passed away at Belen Care and Rehabilitation on Wednesday, May 14, 2003. Mary was born in Leadville, CO on April 14, 1914. Mary and Harrell owned and operated Harrell's Bakery in Belen from 1933 until 1950. Mary later worked for a milk company and from there she started working at the First National Bank of Belen from which she retired in 1977. She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge Jasmine #45. Mary enjoyed volunteering for the boy scouts, bowling, playing bridge, her knitting club, and voluntary hospital work. She was preceded in death by her first husband, H.G. Harrell in 1962. Mary is survived by her husband, Bill B. Puckett; her two children, Mary Ann"Muggy" Hittson of California; and Al"Bunky" Harrell of Los Lunas; her sister, Rose Maury of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, May 16, 2003 in the Romero Funeral Home Chapel from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Mary's Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Belen with Pastor Jay Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ken Gibson, Tom Dils, Eddie Peters, and Bobo Sedillo. Honorary pallbearer will be Leslie Maupin.
