Crews -- Lloyd V. Crews, 82, resident of Albuquerque since 1942, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Schmitt Crews; son, Lloyd Michael Crews of Farmington; daughter, Vicki Zinn of Albuquerque; grandsons, Steven, Nicholas, Michael Jason; granddaughters, Shiela and Michele; six great- grandchildren; and numerous loving relatives and friends. Mr. Crews was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Pearl Crews; three brothers; and three sisters. A longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Albuquerque, 30-year employee of Mountain Bell Telephone of Albuquerque, he retired in June of 1982. Lloyd was a World War II Army Veteran, European Theatre, Patton s 3rd Army, 26th Infantry of the Famed Yankee Division at the Battle of the Bulge and served through VE Day to the occupation until January 1946. He was a recipient of The Bronze Star, for bravery above and beyond the call of duty. Lloyd stood 5'18" he was a"large" fan of country music. Lloyd was a volkswagon enthusiast. Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel with Pastor Roedell Schmitt officiating. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.
