Caller -- Edith DeWitt Miller, 93, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2003. She was born on July 4, 1909. She was married in 1931 to Maxwell B. Miller who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Miller Harris of Redondo Beach, CA, and by her son, Donald DeWitt Miller and wife, Valerie of Hendersonville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Kathleen Harris Luttrull, of Redondo Beach, CA and husband, Carolyn Harris Le-Fort of Creston, CA, and husband, Bradford Harris of Harbor City, CA and wife, Janelle Miller Johnson of Albuquerque, and husband, Phil, and Jay Alan Miller of Rome, Italy; five great-grandchildren, Jennice Johnson and Jay Kory Johnson, of Albuquerque, Brian Luttrull of Redondo Beach, CA, Cameron Aichinger and Madeleine Le-Fort of Creston, CA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Edith graduated from Albuquerque High School and the University of New Mexico, where she was a music major. She also attended the College of Emporia in Kansas. Edith joined the First Presbyterian Church in 1925 and was a devoted and active member. She was the organist there for several years. She was also a Deacon, a member of the Mariners club, the Hand Bell Choir, the Women's Association, Help-Line, and a faithful donor of her hand crocheted afghans to the Sunbonnet Gift Shop. Edith belonged to Eastern Star, and Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity. She worked at Sandia Labs as an editor. During retirement, Edith continued with her music, playing organ and piano for her retirement home. A funeral service will be held at First Presbyterian Church 215 Locust NE, Monday, June 23, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Paul Depenport officiating. Internment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SAI Scholarship Fund, 12317 East Ridge, NE, Albuquerque, 87112.
