Mcspadden -- Nicolas McSpadden, age 4, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2003 following a long illness. Nicolas was born March 16, 1999 in Raleigh, NC, the son of Annette and Les McSpadden. Nicolas was a charming little boy who loved the horses and friends at J&H Stables and his classmates and teachers at Governor Morehead School. The family will receive friends Sunday, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 28, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Greystone Baptist Church with a graveside service following at Raleigh Memorial Park. Nicolas was very loved by his parents and his big sister, Katie. His older brother Jamie preceded him in death in 2000. He will be sadly missed by many including his maternal grandparents, Corine and William Coughlin of Albuquerque, NM; his paternal grandparents, Allene McSpadden and James McSpadden of Chattanooga, TN; aunts and uncles, Lisa and Mark Vieira of Atlanta, GA, Eileen and Nicolas Martinez of Santa Fe, NM, James Martinez of Dallas, TX, and Patti and Mark Filstrup of New York City, NY; cousins, Alexis and Andrew Vieira of Atlanta, GA. Nicolas' parents would like to acknowledge and express their love for the nurses, physicians and other staff members at UNC Children's Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the name of Nicolas McSpadden to, N.C. Children's Hospital, Susan Blalock, Room 6003, East Wing, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
