Matteson -- Frances Tarazon-Matteson, age 88, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, and her beloved husband, Wednesday, August 20, 2003. Frances was born in Deming, NM to the late Frank and Antonia Tarazon, she was a resident of Albuquerque; a parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Alameda. Frances was a member of the China Painter Association; her love for God and family led her to becoming a foster parent for Catholic Charity; and in her spare time she enjoyed knitting with the group at Palo Duro Senior Center, as well as singing in the choir with her friends. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Jacob O. Matteson June 20, 2003. She is survived by her loving children, Jacob, Audie, Maria Yeefong, Juan Yeefong and wife Young, and David Klausen; three grandchildren, Kim Morris, Carrie Olden, Paul Yeefong; and one great-granddaughter, Michelle Simper. Also surviving are two sisters, Toni Ramirez, Rose Casaus; one brother, Manuel Tarazon; and many other beloved family members and friends. Frances will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those who knew and loved her. Visitations will be held Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary; where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final Viewing will be Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ronnie Tarazon, Frankie Tarazon, David Klausen, Lloyd Olden, Patrick Southard and Jim Southard. Services are entrusted to: Alameda Mortuary 9420 4th Street NW 898-3160
