Speer -- Dennis Speer, 50, passed away on August 23, 2003 in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he has resided for the past ten years. Dennis was raised in Corrales, NM, and was a graduate of the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam. He is survived by his son, Thomas; and daughter, Denise, who reside in Hobe Sound, Florida with their mother, Dee Dee Myers. In Albuquerque, he is survived by his mother, Mandy Nichols; stepfather, John Nichols; and sister, Glenna Hickman. His brother, Jack Speer of Houston, Texas; and sister, Dena Zwingle of Burlingame, California, also survive him. Dennis is also survived by his stepsister and stepbrother, Kay Griffin and Kevin Nichols of Albuquerque; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, and cousins. His father, Thomas E. Speer, preceded him in death in 1986. His cremains will be brought to Albuquerque where a private memorial Service for his family is to be held at a later date.
