Obituary for Speer

Dennis Speer, 50, passed away on August 23, 2003 in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he has resided for the past ten years. Dennis was raised in Corrales, NM, and was a graduate of the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam. He is survived by his son, Thomas; and daughter, Denise, who reside in Hobe Sound, Florida with their mother, Dee Dee Myers. In Albuquerque, he is survived by his mother, Mandy Nichols; stepfather, John Nichols; and sister, Glenna Hickman. His brother, Jack Speer of Houston, Texas; and sister, Dena Zwingle of Burlingame, California, also survive him. Dennis is also survived by his stepsister and stepbrother, Kay Griffin and Kevin Nichols of Albuquerque; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, and cousins. His father, Thomas E. Speer, preceded him in death in 1986. His cremains will be brought to Albuquerque where a private memorial Service for his family is to be held at a later date.
