Roberts -- Joan Roberts was born on October 29, 1944 to Nona Mae and Norman G. Roberts of Albuquerque, NM. She was a 1963 graduate of Teaneck High School in Teaneck, NJ, and a former resident of Tampa, FL before relocating to Albuquerque, NM in 2001 to be near her dad. Joanie always had the burning desire to own and operate her own mail order business and lived that dream until her untimely demise on March 29, 2003. She had a very strong belief in God and found a church family with the New Hope Baptist Church of Albuquerque. Joanie was preceded in death by her mother, Nona Mae Roberts. She is survived by her dad and stepmother, Norman and Vilma Roberts of Albuquerque; her sister, Pat of Bronx, NY; her aunt, Pauline Scott of North Carolina; her special cousin, Edith Oliver; her godson, Andrew; her stepsister, Geri Seigler; stepbrothers, Matthew and Lloyd; cousins, Bruce, Robert and Reginald Reavis, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews from New Jersey and New Mexico. Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2003 in Chapel of Sunrise, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE followed by Funeral Services at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho, NM.
