FERGUSON, JOHN TYLER JR. passed away at home in Moab, Utah on February 15th, 2015 after a protracted illness. Born on June 10th, 1953 in Midland Texas, John was the eldest son of John Tyler Ferguson and Judith Ann Purcell. John was a craftsman and proud life-long member of the working class. He was a master of furniture refinishing and restoration, at one point owned an antique store and restored many historically significant buildings. He eked out a living in construction all across the country and worked on a commercial fishing vessel in Alaska with his wife Marsha. He was an accomplished painter, gunsmith and knife maker. Equally at home in a honky-tonk bar or discussing ancient Greek philosophy, John was truly a well-read and a diverse individual. He was preceded in death by his mother Judy and his wife Marsha Thomas Ferguson. He leaves behind his father; and two brothers David and Gerald; as well as four children, Jesse, Joe, Levi and Rachel; and two step-sons Jeremiah and Brian; as well as seven grandchildren. Cattle die, kinsmen die, I myself must die. One thing never dies: the fame of a dead man's deeds.
