BLANCHARD, BETTE JEAN At 2 minutes after midnight, January 15, 2015, long time former resident of Grants, Bette Jean Blanchard passed from this world into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. Her new address is Heaven. Bette was born in Axtell, Kansas on May 27, 1925 to Frank Mitchell and Mary (Glynn). She is survived by sisters, Imelda Anderson of Hermitage, MO, Lucille Dryer of Grain Valley, MO, Rosemary Studer of Beattie, KS; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Mitchell of Frankfurt, KS and Loretta Mitchell of Lincoln, NE; children, Kathy Brown and husband Jim of Albuquerque, NM, Patty Burns and husband Jim of Albuquerque, NM, Jane Taylor and husband Tom of Las Cruces, NM, Mary Ann Aldrich and husband Chuck of Canon City, CO, Martha Holder and husband Dan of Tijeras, NM and daughter-in-law, Lisa Minnehan of Farmington, NM, along with 13 loving grandchildren, Johnny Moffett (Lesa), Heather Burns, Jennifer Burns, Dave Taylor (Michelle), Betsy Durant (Chris), Annie Rose Taylor, Joe Taylor (Elizabeth), Allen Minnehan (Kristen), Nancy Kennedy (Bo), Jackie Elmerick (Dave), Kristi Kearney (Brett), Michelle Canaday (Patrick), Brittany Holder (Special friend Santino) and 11 loving great-grandchildren and one on the way! She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Vince, Raymond, Paul, Sister Adrienne and Teresa; husband, John P. Minnehan, husband, Roy William Driggers and husband, Edward C. Blanchard; sons, Burke F. Minnehan and Joseph D. Minnehan, and granddaughter, Laura Moffett. Bette was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. Her catholic faith was paramount and her love of the Lord was unfailing. She was a longtime member of St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Grants, NM, member of St. Bernadette's Church and Altar Rosary Society of Albuquerque and currently a member of Our Lady of Annunciation in Albuquerque. Friends may visit FRENCH - Wyoming on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, beginning at 4:00 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. Rosary service. Funeral Mass will held Thursday, January 22, 2015, 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Annunciation Church, 2532 Vermont St., Albuquerque; followed by a 12:30 p.m. burial service at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Ed Blanchard.
