GEORGE, EARLE E. JR. Earle Emmett George Jr. was born November 19, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to Earle E. Sr. and Lily Ruth Moon George. After 90 years of full life and service, he peacefully joined our Lord and Savior on January 9, 2015. Earle spent his lifetime in the pursuit of knowledge graduating from Stevens Tech as a Professional Engineer, working for Western Union in NYC, Sandia Corporation for 23 years, and UNM for 15 years. Earle served in the Navy during WWII. After retiring, Earle and Jean moved from Albuquerque where they had lived from 1948 to 1984 to Elephant Butte for the next 20 years. Earle was very active in the community: serving on the Board of Sierra Electrical Coop, T or C and Elephant Butte Zoning and Planning Boards and other community Boards, as an officer in many fraternal organizations, and as an active member of the Volunteer Fire Department and Lake Search and Rescue. He served as a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary for 33 years, serving as Flotilla Commander and Radio Officer for the Elephant Butte State Park. Earle is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean Louise Rogers George; their four children; son, William and his wife, Nancy and their two sons, Michael and Jacob; daughter, Georgia Kitt and her husband, Larry McKown, and their two daughters, Elizabeth and Michelle and her daughters MacKenzie and Emma Rae, son, James and his wife, Karen, daughter, Linda and her husband, Hollis L. Wilson II and their children, Hollyanna, and her husband Ron Hooks and their children Logan and Ella, Hollis III and his wife, Julie, and their children Arlo, Eve, and Seth, and his wife Marissa and their children Bayla, and Solomon; brother, George Alfred and his wife Carol; nephews, Jonathan and Jeffery and their children; and many other loving relatives and friends. Services will be held at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel on Tuesday, January 13 at 1pm, with Visitation at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to Casa Esperanza - House of Hope, 1005 Yale Boulevard Northeast, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
