HANSEN, HAROLD B. JR. Harold B. Hansen, Jr., a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 2003 and previously of Gallup, NM, age 59, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014. He was born on July 3, 1955 to Harold B. and Mary (Vandervort) Hansen, Sr. of Sewickly, PA. He married Patty Jo Gabhart on September 19, 1976 in Chesterton, IN. He graduated from Chesterton High School and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University. Mr. Hansen earned three Masters Degrees from Western New Mexico University and was currently working towards his Doctorate Degree. He had served as principal at Smith Lake Elementary in Smith Lake, NM, served as a teacher at Tohatchi Elementary and High School in Tohatchi, NM, and served as principal at Bennett Baptist Church School in Bennett, CO, Chester Public Schools in Chester, MT, Newcomb High School in Newcomb, NM, and Park Forest Elementary in Park Forest, IL. He had also served as an Assistant Principal for Monte Vista Elementary, Dennis Chavez Elementary, Barcelona Elementary, Mission Avenue Elementary and Painted Sky Elementary, all of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Hansen, Sr.; and grandparents, Alfred A. E. and Lillian (Bronniche) Hansen. Mr. Hansen is survived by his children, Jeremiah Hansen and wife, Elizabeth, of Albuquerque, NM, Joshua Hansen and wife, Rebekah, of Rio Rancho, NM, Esther Tolle and husband, Jeremy, of Las Vegas, NV, and Christopher Hansen and wife, Jennifer, of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Ethan Bryce Hansen and Megan Fairchild, Isabella, Emma and Liam Hansen, and Aylianna, Bethany and Alexander Hansen; siblings, Candace Lee Detweiler, Donald Alan Hansen, Victoria Lynn VanPatten, Tammy Kay Wise, Linda Darlene Board, James Wesley Hansen, and Carol Sue Daumer; aunt, Eleanor Lillian Smith; and many other family members, friends, and colleagues who mourn his passing. Viewing and Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with the Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 3:00 PM at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
