GRANT, PHILIP R. "BOB" JR. Philip R. (Bob) Grant, Jr. was born on April 23, 1930 in Evanston, IL. His love affair with New Mexico began when he moved to Santa Fe while in high school. Bob graduated from UNM in 1951 with a degree in geology and after a stint with the Army in the Korean War, worked for Sinclair Oil for many years. Not wanting to leave New Mexico after Sinclair transferred him to Albuquerque in 1962, Bob began his second career as a realtor, owning and operating Ackerman-Grant Realty. Eventually, he was able to return to geology and became a well-known and respected expert on New Mexico water and energy issues. Bob was deeply involved in New Mexico politics and Albuquerque community affairs and served on the boards of many local groups and foundations. He also served in the New Mexico state legislature from 1972-1978 and was very active in the Rotary Club, receiving their Living Legend award in 2008. A health setback in 2013 necessitated a move to Colorado Springs where he died on December 4, 2014. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Min. He is survived by a sister, Noel Wood of New London, NH; three daughters, Cindy Aguilar (Erwin) of Colorado Springs, CO, Christie Bryant (Dave Garcia) of Denver, CO, and Tracy Glatzmaier (Gary) of Soquel, CA; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the UNM Cancer Center, the Albuquerque Rotary Club or the New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranches. There will be a celebration of his life on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 2-5 pm at the Hotel Albuquerque. Any additional details will be available at www.cappadonafh.com
