CODDINGTON, PAUL M. Paul Coddington, 64, died at home on November 24 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his father Stanley and his mother Juliette, and in the Albuquerque area he is survived by first cousin Neil Coddington (wife Betty Jo) and many other cousins in the large Clarence Blankenship family. He also leaves behind long-time friends in various parts of the country. A 1968 graduate of Highland High School in Albuquerque, Paul studied broadcast journalism at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, and during the early '70s he worked at radio stations in El Paso and Tucson. When times were tough, he took whatever kind of work he could find. In the late '70s, he worked for Capital Records in Dallas. Later, Paul got into the fields of value engineering and computer support before returning to Albuquerque in 1998 to care for his mother. Paul will be remembered as a witty, loyal, and generous friend and an appreciative neighbor who was always up for a lively discussion about popular music, education, politics, or just about anything else he knew something about. An inveterate "news junkie," he had strong and informed opinions. For better or worse, Paul lived life his own way; but there is reason to hope that when presented with the ultimate choice, he took the hand Jesus offered. A memorial service is being planned for a suitable time well after the Christmas holidays. Anyone interested in participating is welcome to call Phil Scott at 505-265-1983.
