SANCHEZ TRINIDAD "TRINA" B. 1923-2014 Trinidad "Trina" B. Sanchez, age 91, a resident of Adelino, NM passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Trina peacefully went with the sun rising and her cows calling her on her farm. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Tome, NM for all her 91 years. For over 50 years she was a member of the New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau. She was also a member of the New Mexico Cattle Growers Association. In 1991 Trina and J.C. were awarded the New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau Farm Family of the year in 2000. Trina was picked as one of ten for the Albuquerque Women in Business Smart, Savvy, Successful Award. In 2007 she also received the "Diamond in the Rough" award for all her outstanding contributions to New Mexico Agriculture. Trina was a retired school librarian for Belen's Central Elementary School for 37 years. She retired at the age of 83. Trina loved working with kids teaching them all she knew about books and always stressing the importance of getting an education. Trina was very patriotic always teaching her students the meaning of the United States Flag and patriotism. Trina was a "Farmer and Rancher" and proud of it. She loved feeding her cows, working in her yard and spending time with her family. What an amazing cook she was no one ever left hungry from her kitchen. We love you Granny, "A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!" She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, J.C. Sanchez; her parents, Luis and Josefita Baca; brother, Eloy Baca; sister, Librada Davila; and nephew, Phillip Moser. Trina is survived by all of her loving children; her daughters, Anna Glenn and husband, Ron, Rebecca Wolfe and husband, Gary, Juanita Locher and husband, Todd, sons, Richard Sanchez and wife, Cindy, Steven Sanchez, Clarence and Robert; numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Trina is survived by her sisters, Dolores Moser and Jenny Deal; and several nephews and nieces. Also surviving is a very special daughter-in-law, Debra Sanchez and her loving nurses, Raquel, Karrie and Catrina. All services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Tome, NM on Tuesday, December 2nd, beginning with a Viewing at 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Tome Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Pilcher, Ricardo Sanchez, Josh Wolfe, Beto Torrez, Brandon Griego, Daniel Sanchez, and Dr. Mark Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jody Wolfe and Charles Sanchez.
