MEYERS, JOAN PATRICIA Age 80, of Albuquerque died Friday, November 21, 2014, She is survived by her sons John Voelker and Paul Voelker; her daughter Augusta Meyers and her two sons Callahan and Connor, all of Albuquerque. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years John Julius Meyers. Joan lived in New Mexico for 40 years, but was very proud to call herself a "New Yorker" - paying homage to her Brooklyn roots and the many family and friends she had in the Empire State. She was a kind soul who never hesitated to offer help to those in need, and didn't have a judgmental bone in her body. A former nightclub singer, Joan also had a passion for cooking, and loved nothing more than having friends and strangers over for a home cooked meal. A Mass will be celebrated for Joan on Wednesday, December 3rd at 10:30 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Rio Rancho.
