MCDONALD, RICHARD J. Richard J. McDonald (RJ) unexpectedly left the company of his family and friends on November 1st, 2014. RJ was preceded in death by his parents Helen and John; and brother Maurice R. McDonald. He is survived by his wife Patricia; daughter Kim and husband Dennis; three granddaughters Chelsie, Julie and Makenzi Yamrose; son Randy McDonald; sister Diane McDonald; nephew Shawn; niece Heidii; and sister-in-law Paula, John Bradley and Heather McDonald. RJ graduated from Albuquerque High School where he developed many lifelong friends. He worked at White Sands Missile Range while attending New Mexico State University prior to joining the Army. RJ and Pat have been active in dog clubs for many years and raised many litters of champion Bearded Collies. Richard had two special dogs that he loved very much Timmy and Andrew. Andrew went on to become Top Dog in 1995, 96 and 97. RJ and Pat had recently returned to New Mexico and moved into a new home. RJ enjoyed people, NASCAR races, the Aggies, the Broncos and music. He loved his family and friends. He was kind, unselfish, hard working and a dedicated Husband, Daddy, Grandpa and Brother. He lived his life with joy and hope. It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to this Special Gentleman. Information about a celebration of RJ's life will be sent to family and friends after the first of the year.
