CLEMENT, AUDREY BOMBECK Audrey Bombeck Clement passed away on October 30, 2014, at age 82. She was born in Hugo, Colorado on January 3, 1932 to Ella Elizabeth Welch Bombeck and William Herman Deitrich Bombeck. She is survived by her three children J Bradley, Valerie, and Ryan; her daughter-in-law Theresa; and grand children Kyle and Alexandria. She is also survived by sister-in-law Bessie Bombeck of Grand Island, NE; five nephews, a niece, and their children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William L. Clement on October 25, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents and brothers Kenneth, Gordon, and William Bombeck and his wife Verlie. Audrey's father died when Audrey was only six, leaving her mother to raise her. Audrey graduated from Grand Island Nebraska Senior High School in 1950. She was employed by the US Bureau of Reclamation, the Veterans Administration Hospital (where she met her future husband), and the US Air Force. She ran her own interior decorating business in Albuquerque in the 1980s. Audrey and her husband Bill enjoyed traveling in their motor home and camping. They were members of the Coronado Thunderbirds and the Roadrunners. Audrey enjoyed singing and was active in the Sweet Adelines chorus for 30 years and sang lead in several quartets, competing regionally and nationally. She was a musician of many talents - arranging music and playing violin, clarinet, and piano as a child, a multi-tiered organ for many years, and piano into her 80s. In recent years she and her son Brad played piano together at her assisted living residence. Her cremains will be placed in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
