Lillian worked as a librarian at Sandia National Labs until her retirement in 1983. Lillian enjoyed being with her dogs, collecting coins, and sweepstaking. Lillian is survived by her two grandchildren, Courtney Balfour, of Dallas, TX, and Casey Balfour, of Austin, TX; her great-granddaughter, Haley Ann Simmons, of Dallas, TX; her two nieces, Arlene Horne, and her partner, Carlton Cann, of Greenville, TX, and Gayla Thomason, of Los Lunas, NM; and three nephews, Tom Horne and his wife, Linda, of Austin, TX, Paul Skotchdopole and his wife Yolanda, of Las Vegas, NM, and Phil Holtam and his wife Merilee, of Layton, Utah. Lillian was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Balfour, who passed away in 2001; her sister, Lola Skotchdopole, who passed away in 2005; her other sister, Virginia, who passed away in 1952; and her two nephews, Doug Horne, who passed away in 2011, and Mark Skotchdopole, who passed away in 2012. An informal memorial service was held at the home of her niece, Gayla Thomason, in Los Lunas, NM, on September 20, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
