SALINAS, REYNALDO 85, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 31, 2014. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Joanna Salinas, Hilario Salinas, Jeannette and Michael Parros, Juan Andres Salinas and Tobias A. Salinas; grandchildren, Maria Salinas, Dominique Parros, Samuel Parros and Austen Parros; sisters, Josefina Sisneros, Petra Montano and Todocia Lucero; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Reynaldo was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Chonita (Ascencion) Salinas. Reynaldo came from a ranching family of 13 children in Milagro, NM. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, where he was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. Reynaldo was a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Albuquerque Chapter One. He was also a machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad for 43 years. Mr. Salinas was also a rancher all of his life. He was a devoted Catholic, serving with the Ministry of Consolation, Active Adults and as an usher. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated on August 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at of Our Lady of Fatima. Interment will follow at Nuestra Senora de los Dolores, Milagro, NM at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Hilario Salinas, Juan Andres Salinas, Tobias A. Salinas, Michael Parros, Ramon Sisneros, and David Salinas. Honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Parros, John Apodaca, and Fred Apodaca.
