GARCIA, FLORA Age 75, of Rio Rancho, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2014. She was born September 9, 1938, in Cabezon, NM to Solomon and Laura Lovato. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rudy Lovato. She is survived by her husband, Maurice; son, Robert and wife Erin and their children, Dallas and Viveca; son, Maurice and his son, Michael; son, Larry and wife Amy and their children, Nicholas, Jon-Luc and Amanda; daughter, Laura and her children, Lynette and Richard; great-grandchildren, Madison and Braydon; sister, Rita Gallegos; brothers, Solomon (Junior) Lovato and wife Mary, Bert Lovato and wife Betty, Anthony Lovato and Joseph Lovato. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend, Edwina Barela. Flora married the love of her life, Maurice Garcia, on August 25, 1956. They lived in Albuquerque and started a family and then moved to Southern California, where their children grew up. They returned to the Albuquerque area in 1992. Flora loved to be around her family and became the family matriarch after the death of her mother. Her life was her children and family. Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren. Her eyes would always light up when she saw them enter a room. Flora was known for her cooking especially her cakes and her love of bingo. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Queen of Heaven Parish, 5311 Phoenix Avenue NE. The family would like to thank the staff at Presbyterian Hospital and especially the nursing staff at Kaseman Inpatient Hospice for their excellent care and compassion they gave to Flora in her last days.
