BRIGGS, ALLAN D. Age 88, died June 8, 2014 peacefully at his home. He was born December 4, 1925 in Denver, CO. Dale, as he was known, is survived by his devoted wife of almost 59 years, Juanita Briggs; his two daughters, Colleen Leseberg and husband Dewey Leseberg, and Sharon Esquibel and husband Joe Esquibel; five grandchildren, Kenny Leseberg, Daniel Leseberg and wife Caitlin Leseberg, Christopher Esquibel, Marc Esquibel and Kelly Esquibel, all from Albuquerque and the surrounding area, brother, Dean Briggs of Denver, CO; and nieces and nephews. Dale grew up on a farm in Wheatridge, CO. He was drafted into the Army and served his country in the Philippines during WWII as a military policeman. After serving his country, he came back home to Wheatridge, CO where he met and married Juanita Mader in 1955. Dale worked for White House Decorating Company doing construction repair work on homes and commercial buildings. Dale moved his family to Albuquerque in 1967 to work as a construction superintendent with the Bureau of Indian Affairs until retirement many years later. He also built spec homes during evenings and weekends. When Dale was in his early 70's, he built the home where he and Juanita have lived for the last 15 years. He was known as someone who could build anything, grow anything and fix anything. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, doing Sudoku puzzles, playing rummy, gardening, going to auctions and working on cars, especially his Model A. He also enjoyed driving his 1940's International Farm tractor. Dale and Juanita belonged to the Model A Club, Poco Quatros. Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be dearly missed. A Celebration of his life will be held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. A reception will follow at the home of Juanita Briggs.
