ALDERETE, ELFIGO JR. "AL" was born April 29, 1943 and passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at age 71. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. Al worked hard his entire life as a painter. He will be remembered as a loving father, husband, brother, Tata as well as a kind hearted friend. He put God and family first, he lived his life with his dearest wife Ernestine Alderete. Elfigo was preceded in death by his father Elfigo Alderete Sr. and his mother Emma Alderete; sons, Jerry Alderete and Frank Alderete. He is survived by his son, Al Alderete and Martha; daughters, Annette Shanahan and Billy, Marlene Alderete and Steve, Eileen Ramos and Derrick. Elfigo had many generations of grandchildren and will be greatly missed. Services will be held at San Felipe de Neri Parish in Old Town, 2005 N. Plaza NW. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery Pallbearers will be Joseph Alderete, Jerry Alderete, Billy Shanahan, Tranky Barela, Derrick Ramos and Steve Tafoya.
