MCMANUS, LARRY GEORGE USAF (RET) Larry was born December 30, 1938 in Carthage, IN. He passed away peacefully Friday, May 31, 2013, in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his wife and "amor" Rita; seven children, Andy and wife Julie, Sandy and husband Eric Rude, Laura and husband John Melton, Sheryl, Barbara, Stacy and husband Mike Aiken, and Madonna; 17 grandchildren and many close friends and community members that love him and will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by parents, Virginia Fern and Maurice McManus. Larry retired as a Major in the United States Air Force, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and three Air Medals. He was also employed as an avionics and electrical systems engineer by the Air Force in the Civil Service. Most recently, Larry served as the President of his Homeowners Association. He enjoyed traveling, genealogy, and spending time with his family. We all lovingly know him as our walking, talking Encyclopedia. But above all, we will remember him as a man full of honesty, integrity, and loyalty. Funeral services will be held on June 5, 2013 at Daniels Family Funeral Services at 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE in Albuquerque, NM 87110 with visitation at 2:00 pm, followed by services performed by Larry's childhood friend, Rev. Chuck Robertson, at 3:00 pm with a reception to follow.
