ROMERO, OLIBERIO "OLIVER" Age 81, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, was embraced by the Lord and taken to his heavenly home, Wednesday, May 29, 2013. He was born in Pena Blanca, NM and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM. Oliver was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, who served his country during the Korean War. He retired from Kirtland Air Force Base. He served as Municipal Judge and Justice of the Peace in Bernalillo, NM; where he was a member of the Bernalillo Board of Education, a volunteer for the Fire Department, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4243, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans; Past Treasurer for the Rotary Club, and the owner and operator of Romero's Barber Shop. Oliver is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Socorro Romero; his wonderful children, who he was so proud of, Oliver E. Romero, David E. Romero and wife Melinda Salazar, Sister Rena Marie Romero, Dianna E. Wahba and husband Ahmed; his precious grandchildren, Jessica Ewell and husband Jason, Francisco Romero and wife Angelica, Abdul-Rahman, Hedaya, Omar and Ismail Wahba. Also surviving are his sisters, Estella Romero and Dolores Dominguez; nieces, Denise Johnson and husband Lawrence and Christine Montoya and husband John; many other relatives and a host of friends. Oliver will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo,NM, with Fr. Jose A. Hernandez as celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association - NM Chapter, 9500 Montgomery Blvd., NE, Ste.# 121, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
