JACOBSEN, LINDA KATHERINE (KIRN) Age 66, born in Baltimore, MD and a resident of Albuquerque since 1970, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013. She is survived by son, Bradly Jacobsen; daughter in law, Donna Jacobsen; three granddaughters, Kylie, Katherine and Jenna Jacobsen of Albuquerque; sister, Carolyn Jackson of Walkersville, MD; brother, Rodney Kurt Kirn and his wife, Sherry of Elkridge, MD; and niece, Lauren Jackson of Sykesville, MD. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Jacob Kirn and Evelyn Phipps Kirn of Ellicott City, MD. Linda was always a country girl at heart, raising cows, pigs and geese for a time in her south valley home. A single mother, she loved her son, Brad, very much and supported everything he did with enthusiasm and encouragement. She was fiercely independent and was strong and tough as nails. She had a strong work ethic and retired from Digital Semiconductors with Excellence. She had an optimistic, never-give-in attitude along with a quirky sense of humor. She will be remembered for her sweet laugh, her accepting and non-judgmental way of life and her generous spirit. She often provided everyone she knew with vegetables from her garden as well as donated to the homeless and to prevention of animal cruelty. She was an avid reader, loved nature, animals, old movies and especially her granddaughters, of whom she was deeply proud and who she supported unconditionally. Linda loved the Lord and her family is blessed to know she now rests in the arms of her Savior. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - University.
