FLANAGAN, DEBORAH ANNE died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday following a two-month struggle with pneumonia. She was predeceased by her mother, Marcella Flanagan. She is survived by her parents Virginia and Robert Flanagan, her sisters Laura, Patricia, Mary Sue, Kathleen, Maureen, and brother Paul. Many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews also survive her. She is also survived by a dear friend, Cassandra Floran and her husband, Bobby who were almost family to her. Deborah was a UNM graduate and was employed by the City Attorney's office until her retirement at the end of 2011. Deborah was a bright, joyful and generous person. She volunteered to help many causes, including animal humane organizations, Esperanza de Joaquin, a poor village in Mexico, and helped serve meals to the homeless at St. Martin's. Much of her love was poured out to her animals, many of them strays abandoned in the mountains. She nursed many back to health, found homes for most, and kept them until she found a suitable home. She was a major contributor to Tanzanian projects of Ecology Action, an organization dedicated to spreading an organic, sustainable method of agriculture throughout the world, especially to the places where starvation of children is still a reality. When her parents were no longer able to drive, she was always there to satisfy their every need and even their wants. Deborah learned and lived the dictum to "Love your neighbor as yourself." Deborah would want any contributions to be made to the animal humane organization, Second Chance Animal Rescue Organization or to Ecology Action, 5798 Ridgewood Road, Willits, CA 95490 for their Tanzanian projects with the African Benedictine Sisters. A mass of Christian burial will be said at Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Road at 2 PM on Friday, 15 March
