SANCHEZ, THELMA M. Age 86, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Thelma was a lifetime resident of Albuquerque. She is survived by her son, Charles Sanchez and wife Nancy; daughters, Pearl Sanchez and Lorraine Gallegos; 13 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; sister, Lori Davis and niece, Rosella Griego; numerous nieces; nephews; extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lucy Gargoura; beloved husband, Hector Sanchez Sr.; son, Hector Sanchez Jr.; daughter, Lucy Sanchez; brothers, Joseph Jr. and George Gargoura and aunt Margaret Perea. Thelma was a lifetime member and devout servant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic Minister; taught catechism, and belonged to the Altar Society, Legion of Mary and the Holy Name Society. She was an active member until she fell ill. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting the casino. Her love for her children, grandchildren and family kept her going. A reciting of the Rosary will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 301 Stover Ave. SW Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 9:30 am followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 am; Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Cedric Valdez, Dominic Anaya, Mike Gallegos Jr., Mark Gallegos, Chris Gallegos and Zach Martinez. Honorary Bearers are Adam Campos, Sam Sanchez, Zeke Benavidez and Issacc Castillo. Thelma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
