Mrs. Chavez is survived by her daughters, Margaret Caro and husband, Raymond, and Patricia Garcia; her soul mate, Larry Magana; sisters, Gloria Sanchez and husband, Richard, and Stella Montoya; brothers, Edward Cano, Tony Cano and wife Josie, and Jimmy Cano and wife, Susie; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four godchildren; and many other extended family members.
