VELARDE, MARIA SARITA "SARAH" Went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 15, 2013. She was born on June 23, 1922 in Roy, New Mexico to Camilita Martinez Mascarenas and Jose Mascarenas. Sarah married Tony Velarde on March, 6, 1945. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and also her son Johnny Velarde and brother Eloy Mascarenas. She is survived by her two sons, Steven A. Velarde and wife Linda, Patrick J. Velarde and wife Margaret of Albuquerque, NM; her grandchildren Steven Velarde, Elena Silva-Velarde, Kenny Velarde & wife Nicole, Candice Hale, Michelle DePriest & husband Brian, Melanie Silva-Velarde and Tonya Hale. Mrs. Velarde is also survived by her Great Grandchildren Brittney Stott and Anais Silva-Velarde; her siblings Virginia Thrap, Tony Mascarenas, Carlos Mascarenas and wife Molly, Lucy Mascarenas, Bobby Mascarenas and her sister in law Ramona Mascarenas; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Sarah was an active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and also a member of St Vincent de Paul Society. A Rosary will be recited Sunday, January 20, 2013, 6:00 pm at FRENCH - Lomas. On Monday, January 21, 2013, 9:15 am a Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee followed by the Mass being celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment will take place Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 10:00 am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit FRENCH - Lomas, Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm prior to the Rosary.
