KOURY, BETTY of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed into the loving arms of her Savior at the age of 81 on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. Betty was born on August 10, 1931 in Albuquerque. She is survived by her four children, Linda (William) Airy of Littleton Colorado, Carol (Rob) Lauer, Janet (Keith) Brooks of Albuquerque, and George (Terri) Koury of Madison Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Richard (Mary) Turrietta of Auburn California and Michael (Susie) Turrietta of Albuquerque. Betty was preceded in death by parents Sophia and Celso Turrietta; her brothers Cecil, Sylvester (Sonny), Robert and James Turrietta; and her sister Claire. Betty was active in her Christian faith as a bible teacher and missionary. She was also active in Republican politics, volunteering and running for office. Betty lived a full and beautiful life and her legacy lives on not only in her family but also in a multitude of people who were touched and changed by the Presence of God that flowed through her life. We will be celebrating her life with a memorial service to be held at Glory Christian Fellowship Hall, 2417 Wyoming Blvd, Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00am with a reception immediately following.
